This product does not get sanded back to raw cork, rather the coating layer is designed to be maintained with polyurethane and a maintenance coat is recommended every 5-10 years

It’s important to remember that cork tiles do change colour over time from oxidisation and will not always match new cork if you are adding to or repairing damaged tiles.
